Who Gives a Hoot?by =NynjaKat

Ok for one of our first assigned projects in painting [we have free time in which we've been experimenting with supplies and stuff in both my art classes but we haven't had many projects in either of them YET xD] We had to draw an unnaturally colored endangered animal in oil pastels. So this is mine. It's a baby scops owl. I messed around a bit with style here. C: I kinda like the turnout...though I like 100% realism best still with animal paintings/drawings.... Not sure what to consider this style really...it's not realism or cartoon but it's not abstract either...somewhere in between. xD

The textured background shows much more in person :c Which is a share because I liked the way it looked....and it's more purple-ly in the black areas too....>.< I apologized for the photo... :c I am working with larger canvases in school so I can't scan them.

A few different scops owl refs were used for the sketch but most of it I did on my own.
