Well, I tried. I'm going to redo both portraits after my classes too see how much I've improved. [the other one that's not as good but here: ]
It's Castiel [Misha Collins] from SPN. Cas is my favorite character. :> Another something for my portfolio. c: Ref is from google. My next portrait of him will be of Misha just being himself, rather than his character. I have no real time concept of how long with took. I spent a few days on it off and on. Maybe 5 days? I was pretty busy...and I kept procrastinating but I finally got it done. :'D I tried not be as lazy as I was on the last one.
Significant differences on this from my last portrait: -Multiple days spent. More breaks. -Normal paper, smoother. -Shaded with HB first, then drawing pencils over it. These differences definitely showed in the quality. c':
I'm still not completely satisfied but hopefully I'll keep improving and be satisfied with my realistic portrait skills soon.
Art is mine, character is not. Please do not repost without my permission. c: I have a higher quality ref saved but this was the only one I could find, sorry I lost the original link. [link]
Great work! You captured his emotion nicely. I like the shadings and differences in his skin. It seems a bit dark, like the white collar, and the white in the background is greyish. I guess that is because of the scan?
