Does a child always remember?

There are things a child can never forget

Like running in the middle of the night,

Till you reach the lawn

Of a closed hospital

And getting sick.

The bitter taste and the stabbing pains...

Like pushing after that and running

Till you barely reach the church,

A safe Haven,

And passing out in the parking lot.

The smell of dirt and its sting in your cuts...

Or fending someone off

When you're in peril,

With a pair of scissors.

Because you're weaker

And otherwise defenseless.

The race in your heart and the gleam from the blades...

Though the scars may fade,

The memories remain fresh

Enough to fill countless sharp syringes

The painting's so large I couldn't fit it in my scanner. I had to take a photo...sorry guys.

_{Symbolism:
The palette for the heart with the color represents all the emotions which come from the heart and inspired artists to create. The wings made of paper are symbolic of the successes artists have when creating pieces. Also, the wings are taped together to visibly show the wings were crafted by hand. The papers that are falling off are both successes and the failures every artist produces. And over all the piece is inspired by my passion for art, hence the title.}

Uhh. I think that's my basics of the symbolism here. It's really hard to explain. xD

Pencil sketched, painted with watercolors, white paint touch ups and photo with my nikon coolpix.

Spent a lot of time off and on with this piece. I'm pretty happy with it.
