Edit: I fixed the shadow a bit in gimp. c:

Go ahead, add another...I know you want to.

More depressing art...yea...As with most of my art there's deep meaning and symbolism in it. But I wont give it all away because then it wouldn't leave and room for YOU to interpret your own views on it.

Sketch done in my drawing journal during school.
Edited in gimp.

I know the shadow is a bit off. it was supposed to look like she has wings.....just...idk consider it abstract-ish and be creative. x'D

I like making messy/grungy looking effect with the sketch and gimp. I think it helps convey the emotion well.

Used: Pencil, markers & gimp.

Concept. Anatomy. Mix of realism and abstract. All well above par. This work of art is truly one of the best I've to see. I am also fond of the sketchy shading on the body, and agree that the shading gives it much more impact than normal- the lighting/tinting and shading in the hair is especially the best part, it looks as if it was done naturally. I've never seen an artwork such as this where the concept is translated into literal form, therefore giving it a 5 on originality. I have not done art from this angle, but it looks as though anatomy is completely proper. The body and knives are done in realism, yet the concept and originality of the shadow with wings gives it an enhanced feel. Thank you for providing this artwork on DeviantArt, I love it and I'm sure whoever else saw it did too. Nice job. :)

The very idea of this drawing is very original and really deep. I like the fact that you made the phrase literal by actually having her stabbed multiple times. It conveys a really well and deep meaning behind the piece, as well as it adds more thought to it.

The colouring is magnificent! I love the hair especially, as it captures the aspect of shading. You can clearly see the different strands and it seems to be laying so natural, as if you really had made the girl shake her head to get the hair like that. It looks really real.

The shadow also has it's own meaning, which I find is also really cool. I can tell it's supposed to look like she has wings, and to me it seams like she wants to be free, but is tied down instead. Also, the fact that she's naken helps convey the meaning more, I suppose. It shows that she feels naked and all alone, broken and scarred.

Overall, I really love this piece so much. <3 It should be a DD...but i have no idea how to nominate for those so yeah...But anyway, fantastic job! <3
